/// THANKS TO YOU WE MADE IT ///
The Iberian Wolf has been endangered for years. Persecuted and unjustly accused of murder, the last wolf in Western Europe, was practically extinct a few decades ago.
LAST TUESDAY THE IBERIAN WOLF HAS BEEN CLASSED AS A PROTECTED SPECIES IN THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT, MAKING IT ILLEGAL TO HUNT THE ANIMAL NATIONWIDE
Since the 1970s, the Iberian wolf was very close to extinction, environmental organisations have repeatedly called on the government to cease all hunting of the species and to include it in the List of Wild Species under Special Protection.
Thanks to you and the exhaustive fight from several ONGs, recreational wolf hunting has been banned. The wolf will no longer be a trophy and will give back to our ecosystems what they've been lacking for years. Together we've closed a dark chapter on the history of the WOLF.
Since last tuesday, Spain's environment ministry has ruled that protection for wolves in the south of the country will know be extended north of the Duero river, where controlled hunting had still been allowed.
