O U T L A W S
The difference between a criminal and an outlaw is that while criminals frequently are victims, outlaws never are. Indeed, the first step toward becoming a true outlaw is the refusal to be victimized. All people who live subject to other people’s laws are victims. People who break laws out of greed, frustration, or vengeance are victims. People who overturn laws in order to replace them with their own laws are victims. ( I am speaking here of revolutionaries.) We outlaws, however, live beyond the law. We don’t merely live beyond the letter of the law – many businessmen, most politicians, and all cops do that – we live beyond the spirit of the law. In a sense, then, we live beyond society. Have we a common goal, that goal is to turn the tables on the ‘nature’ of society. When we succeed, we raise the exhilaration content of the universe. We even raise it a little bit when we fail.
As you know the death of Wheels and Waves left a huge gap in the wolves calendar and the freedom to make some mischief. This void, united to the reigning feeling around us, that we needed – now more than ever – to celebrate together this Summer Solstice set the perfect ground for our own adventure to be born.
El Solitario O U T L A W S is a story about long lasting friendships. Not just between riders, but between designers, makers and storytellers, collaborating freely on one common goal – adventure. The nucleus is a motorcycle expedition across the Iberian peninsula. A think tank on the move, we will gather all these free spirits and immerse them into an OFF ROAD + OFF THE GRID adventure to excite and challenge their passion and survival instincts. For seven days we will storm the hell out of our machines across two of the most beautiful countries in Europe. Riding all day and drinking whisky under the stars at night. Together we aim to keep the fire alive and excite our creative ethos like we’ve been doing all these years in Wheels & Waves, although this time communication will be more direct without the interference of commercialism
In the era of void consumerism and escalating surveillance of individual liberties by government agencies and corporations, every night around the campfire we will ask our beaten up riders two questions: What drives them and how they are shaping their lives to fit their ideals? We will come back to you with the conclusions, which surely will inspire all of us and enlighten our paths to become can openers in the supermarket of life.
